Why Thailand & Travel Logistics

Hello! I hope you are all enjoying your summer! I'm trying to get caught up on some long overdue posts! Especially some travel posts. We have been several places I have yet to write about! I know that's a good problem to have and I never take one second of our travels for granted. Travel is life's greatest gift. I'm lucky to have a husband and kids who like to go and explore and have the next adventure to look forward to!

Summer Home Tour

Hello and happy summer! I'm excited to be sharing bits and pieces of our summer home along with 29 other bloggers this week. A huge thank you to Marty @ A Stroll Thru Life for inviting me to participate! If you are stopping by from Eleven Magnolia Lane (gorgeous, right?), welcome!

I will start by introducing myself briefly. I have this small little blog. I have been blogging on and off for 8 years! It has never became a job for me, but I have used it as a creative outlet to express myself and connect with like-minded people. You can find me most days sharing things about our home and life on Instagram. I currently live in suburban Kansas City with my hubs and two kids (ages 10 & 9). I teach preschool part time and love being home with my kids. We've lived in 6 states in 15 years of marriage! Yep, finally getting settled in this city we love! We have lived in our current spec house for 6 years. I'm constantly changing and zhushing and thinking about what to do next. Obsessed is the right word! I'm also a crazy plant lady and love to work in my yard (even mowing is fun for me)! I would love to connect with you!
Let's dive into the tour! Kimberly Queen ferns and potted hydrangeas keep our porch looking classic. I have also opted for no wreath the last few years. We replaced this door a few years ago, and I love it so much, I want to actually able to see it!

And to be honest, our tour could end with this space because this is where we spend most of our time! We recently did a little mini-makeover out here and we just love the space so much. It's chic and cozy and inviting and comfortable. All the things I try to accomplish in the inside is working outside too. I love summer and being outside, so this just suits me!

Our dining room doesn't get used much, but we have an open concept, so it definitely gets seen from all angles of the downstairs. I mostly just love to change up the bar cart! It's fun to change and junk it up. The rest of the space is just plants and more plants! It's one of my favorite rooms in our house! My biggest tip for making your home look like summer is to bring the outside in! Cut flowers and stems and bush branches from your yard! Instant and free decor!

Next up is our breakfast nook. We have a small round table and I used outdoor chairs to bring a cafe vibe into the space. It's all very casual, which suits our family! We live here, kids live here, and we always want to feel that every space is very accessible and never stuffy! This space also houses my living plant wall! It's just three shelves junked up with a bunch of plants. It makes my plant loving heart skip a beat! Those summery placemats are actually paper! And those peonies. They deserve a moment all to themselves!

Moving into our kitchen and nothing really changes much! We have a pink runner at the sink, so the kitchen always feels like summer to me! I always have fresh flowers or cut from the yard flowers at the island. It's where I spend most of my indoor time, so I like to be surrounded by flowers (amongst all the dirty dishes and crumbs on the floor). :)

And our mudroom has a little narrow chalkboard wall that is home to our annual summer bucket list! I jazzed it up this year with tassels and balloons to surprise the kids. I love the whimsy and personality and bit of uniqueness it adds to our home.
Lastly, our living room is in the smack dab center of our home. We watch TV in here and generally just hang out. We have a finished basement, but we don't seem to use it much in the summer, so if we are not outside, or my kids aren't in my pantry (all day, everyday), we are in here! Our living room is casual and relaxed and we encourage putting your feet up!

That's a wrap! I hope you all enjoyed the tour and found something that inspired you! I also hope you are all having a wonderful summer so far!

Three Ingredient Pancakes

Good morning, friends! I whipped up some easy pancakes this morning and thought I would put the easy recipe on the blog for quick reference. I first learned about this recipe from Cella Jane blog (she's a local gal if you don't read her blog yet). She makes them for her littles. I find them to be excellent for me and my older kids. It's a bonus is that they can prepare the mix themselves! Another bonus is that you most likely have the ingredients on hand at all times!
The ingredients and recipe: 1 egg, 1 banana, 3/4 cup oats. I add dark chocolate morsels to mine, because who doesn't love a chocolate chip pancake?! Mash, mix, and cook up!
This makes 4 smaller pancakes or 3 good size pancakes. Enough for one serving my myself. I would make two batches for me and the kids together. In full disclosure, the pancakes are a little hard to flip because of the texture. In the end, mine end up looking less like pancakes and more like oatmeal! :) Just flip when one see starts to get a little golden brown.
However, they are tasty and easy healthy! I add a little drizzle of real maple syrup, but a smear of peanut butter would be delicious too!
I love a little something sweet in the mornings. And my kids aren't huge egg eaters, so this is fun to put in the breakfast mix! And let's just take a moment with these gorgeous peonies. I can't even!
I hope you're having a wonderful week! Be sure to stop back by on Thursday! I'll be sharing my summer home tour! xo

Chalkboard Summer Bucket List

Happy summer friends! I've been done teaching preschool since Mid-May and my kids were out out on May 25th, so we're already in summer "mode". It has been really hot so far this summer, but I don't really mind it. I live for warm weather and sunshine and being outside!

This is our 6th year creating this fun little summer bucket list on our chalkboard wall. I love hearing (and seeing many of yours on social media) how this chalkboard has inspired you to paint your own chalkboard and create your own lists over the years! I added a fun little festive touch this year! YAY! You can find all previous summer bucket lists here: 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017. It's fun to look back on these old ones year after year!
