Happy Friday, friends! It seems as though I have been blogging about our dining room for about 3 years now, and well, it's because I have been. I have a real problem with "finishing" anything before changing it up again!
This room hasn't changed much since I last blogged about it, but I have updated the paint in the niche, moved the bar cart to a new location, added some white cell shades, and brought in a palm from outside.
The niche was painted in SW Urbane Bronze, but it ended up being too brown. I decided to change it up and use a matte black paint. I love it so much more. The wall is now painted in SW Tricorn Black (had it mixed in flat Behr paint at Home Depot).
After moving the bar cart from the niche to in front of the windows, we now have opened up a new hole in the niche. I am on the lookout for a long console table, as I don't really need any more storage space, just something to fill the space. I also purchased a gigantic canvas on sale at Michael's in the hopes that Steve will be able to create a cool piece of artwork for the space. More to come on that!
You can't see them in this photo, but both of the windows have been outfitted with white cordless cellular shades. They get pulled up during the day to let all this light pour in, and they are easily pulled down every night when it gets dark. I need to do a whole post on cell shades, I love them so much!
I'm still debating whether or not to add two pillows to the end chairs for a little more color/pattern. I will have to reassess once the niche area is completed. This room is the first room to the right of the front door, and I love all the light that pours in. Even though we don't eat here much, it is still one of my favorite rooms in the house!
