Simple Table Decoration

I hosted a 33rd birthday party for a dear friend of mine this weekend and I wanted to put a little something simple on the island where the appetizers would be served.

This friend of mine loves wine, so I thought it would be fitting to do something with wine bottles.  I purchased a bouquet of sunflowers from Trader Joe’s, split up the stems, and placed each in a wine bottle.  I then took some scrap burlap and secured it by wrapping twine around the bottle.  I wanted to keep it simple and homemade looking.

Don’t you just love a sunflower?!  So bold and so striking as a single stem or in a cluster.  The sunflower is also the state flower of KS (some state education for you)!  At the end of the night, I bundled up the sunflowers for the birthday girl to take home!  Happy Birthday, Allison!
