Homemade Sidewalk Paint

We had it on our “Summer Fun” list to make homemade sidewalk paint, which we tried a few weeks ago.  You can make this paint with what you already have on hand, and I promise it washes off your sidewalk/driveway!

Thanks again, Pinterest!

You will need cornstarch, food coloring, and water.  Grab a paintbrush and get started!

HOMEMADE SIDEWALK PAINT
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup water
6-8 drops food coloring

Add water to cornstarch and stir.  Add food coloring.

It was over 100 degrees the day we painted, so the paint dried very quickly (and you can see the kids squinting here)!  Their designs lasted a few days on the sidewalk and eventually a little rain washed it away.

The kids enjoyed doing something new and different, and we will definitely be trying this again in the fall when it is not so unbearably HOT!
