Branch Wall Art

Kate's room is pretty well finished up.  I am just waiting to find the right (cheap) brass chandelier that I can spray paint white and hang.  As mentioned before, we painted her room pink, so I wanted to keep the rest of the room fairly neutral and natural with a few touches of blue/gray.

I came across this post a long time ago, and knew I wanted to do something like it for above Kate's twin bed.  This is what I came up with...

Super easy.  I went outside to my front yard and selected a branch.

I pulled off the leaves and spray painted a few coats with a 99 cent can of white spray paint.

I then picked out 1 sheet of scrapbook paper and started cutting leaves (I just freehanded).  Once cut, I curved the edges at the bottom to make them look for leaf-like.

Adhere the "leaves" with a dab of hot glue.  I then tied two pieces of twine around each end of the branch and around a nail head to hang.

My daughter has not touched it once.  She is aware of what is decor and what can be played with.  She is good like that, thankfully!

White twin bed frame:  $10 from Goodwill
White scalloped side table: $99 from PBK
Blue/White Striped Bed Skirt:  $4.97 on clearance rack at PBK Outlet
Seahorse Pillow:  $8 from clearance shelf at Homegoods
White Down Comforter:  $25 from Walmart.com
White cotton curtains:  Free from my sister!
Monogrammed Quilt:  Gift from when K was born-absolutely love it-from redenvelope.com
Branch Art:  $1.25 for supplies

Other projects for her room Burlap Lampshade, the Recovered Chair, and the Paint Chip Letters.  I also have one more project to show you from her room that will be coming soon!
