July 4th Weekend

We had no plans this weekend.  Let me repeat, no plans.  It was fabulous in every way...

We Played...

We Swam...
Drew was actually swimming in deeper water with no float.  He has come such a long way this summer.  I guess going to the pool everyday makes you want to learn how to swim!  We are still planning to do swim lessons to reinforce-we are so proud of him!

A sweet cotton candy treat (thanks ms. liza)!  I was watching K and D go up and down the water slide and noticed that D would hold on to K's float, direct her to the top, and let her go first every time.  I love catching my kids doing good things, (because so often it seems the other way around)!

We Tried Something New...
We went to the Witte Museum.  We have been wanting to go, and figured today would not be very busy.  Great day!

D is into dinosaurs right now so this is super cool for him!

I love the look K is giving in this pic.  Learning can be fun!

The textile exhibit was amazing.  I could have stared at these dresses all day long.

We Ate...
We made red and blue rice krispie treats and homemade chicken nachos.  We also made peach crisp (recipe to come in another post).

Hope you all had a happy and safe July 4th weekend!
