A Great Find-Thrift Chair Redo

This is the guest post that I did a few weeks back, so in case you didn't see it, here goes...

One of my most favorite things to do is go to thrift stores and peruse the aisles.  It has become a bit of a learned experience for me.  It is about being at the right place at the right time and scoring that piece that you know you can transform into something special.  I have learned patience is key, don't judge a book by it's cover, and old can really be new again!

I always enjoy thinking about how and where these pieces were once used or displayed, and how a little TLC can make them new again.  One of a kind pieces are interesting to look at and can create instant appeal in a home.

I knew I had to have this little chair when I spotted it.  Certain things speak to me right away, and this was one of them,.  And for $10, you can't go wrong!  I loved the sweet lines of it, and the color caught my eye(but I later found out the person who owned this before me didn't finish the paint job!).

I bought the fabric below from Hancock Fabrics for $9.99 yard.  I purchased 1/2 yard (and only needed a little of this) and this particular fabric was on sale for 30% off, so the fabric was very inexpensive!

I painted the frame out in a soft blue paint I already had sitting in my garage (2 coats).

The springs on the chair pad were in good shape, so I just staple gunned some batting to the original frame and then added my fabric.

I love the combo of the soft blue and the pinkish coral pattern...

Here is the finished product!   This is sitting pretty in my 2 year old daughter's room.  Love!

The chair was $10, the fabric and batting was about $4, and the paint was free!  I also found this little pillow to finish it off.  I found it at a craftiques mall for $2.  How sweet!

I love a good before and after!
