DIY: Felt Embellishment for Pillow

Before I made my no-sew pillow covers, I embellished a plain blue pillow, after seeing this post from Don't Disturb This Groove.  She created the entire pillow, and I just recreated the embellishment.

Here is the tutorial.  I simply used scissors, black felt, a lid from a vitamin bottle, and a glue gun.

To make the small circles, I used a vitamin bottle lid to trace even circles on the felt.  I tried to use chalk, and ended up using a red sharpie.  I think I cut close to 60 circles.

Add a drop of glue and fold circle (almost) in half and then another drop of glue to fold in half again.

Cut a larger circle out of felt.  This will be the base that you attach all the smaller circles to.  This can be a large or as small as you want your final embellishment to be.

Start to adhere the smaller, folded circles to the larger circle with hot glue to make a cluster.

Fill the entire circle with small circles and adhere to your pillow.  I don't sew, so I slapped some hot glue on the back, and it worked great!

This was a silk pillow I got on sale at Kirkland's for $7.  Felt costs .25 per sheet, and I think I used about 5 in total.  A cheap and easy way to spruce up a boring pillow!
