Distressed Wooden Plant Box

A few weeks ago, I stumbled across this post at Don't Disturb This Groove.  She painted and distressed an old wooden planter box.  I was also able to find a wooden planter box at Goodwill for $1.99 in great condition, and so I went to town with a little paint, painters tape, and a piece of sandpaper.  Here is my finished product...

This is what the planter box looked like when I bought it...

I decided to first brush paint my box since I had paint on hand.  I choose a blue/grey shade.

Then I taped off the areas I didn't want covered in white.  I just eyeballed.  I didn't want it to look perfect and I knew I was going to distress it later...

For blog picture purposes, I threw in some petunias I was going to plant outside.  I had them on hand and they were a pretty shade of pink for the pic!  You get the idea!  I love getting inspired by other bloggers!  Thanks to Don't Disturb This Groove for the cute idea!
